First days with the Sigma 12-24mm

Discussions for filter mounted devices as well as lenses that come in multiple mounts. Here is where you would discuss those gimmicky ultrawide filter mounts, GND filters, expodisks, polarizers, as well as off-brand lenses (including Lensbaby.)

First days with the Sigma 12-24mm

Just got the lens earlier this week, I have shot it both on my D90 and my N80 and damn it's wide ! It's gonna take some time getting used to it, and I'm still looking at whether or not I got a good sample... So here a few shots I would like to get your advice from (note that I've applied light sharpening/saturation to them):

Rule number 1: don't forget to remove the rubber hood when you shoot :)
Apart from that, contrast/definition in the trees is OK, and colors are definitely vibrant.

Typical crazy car perspective you get with this lens...

Here comes the flare !

More flare, and I don't think the colors came off that good...

I don't really have a brick wall shot, but the low level of distortion is definitely a big feature of this lens...

Handheld at low shutter speed, so sharpness is not the issue here... But check the halo around the Bank of America tower. Is that expected?

Maybe I should post some higher-resolution pictures though right? What do you guys think? Rest of the pics are here:

I will be adding the pics from the N80 with Velvia once I get them...
